Jay Groovara Band is a three-piece rock band that hails from Portsmouth, England. Raz Popa on Drums, Kris Zalitis on Bass, and Jay Groovara on guitar/vocals. Jay writes all the material and used to run an art gallery where he met Kris. Becoming fast friends, the two collaborated on gigs and were eventually joined by Raz. The band has a penchant for loud trashy rock and is notable for creating new songs or improvisations at gigs, based on audience requests. The name is a spin on Argentine Marxist revolutionary Ernesto "Che" Guevara, to which Jay is inspired.
