Born in 1967 at Bashirhat, a suburb of Kolkata, Jainul Abedin representing the Agra gharana, was one of ITC SRA`s earliest scholars and trained here for more than 20 years. He received rigorous talim from Ustad Latafat Hussain Khan, and subsequently under Pandit Vijay Kichlu and Pandit Sunil Bose.

Growing up in a musical atmosphere amidst some of the greatest luminaries of Hindustani music, Jainul has also received invaluable guidance from personalities like Pandit K G Ginde and Smt Dipali Nag. He has featured in almost all the major festivals as well as the various ITC Sammelans in the country. He has also toured Canada, USA and Bangladesh. Besides regular performances, Jainul has successfully conducted workshops in India and various cities in Bangladesh.
