Luis Garcia Biography
Influenced by his father’s love of banda and regional Mexican music, Luis Garcia showed immense qualities for performing and singing at an early age. Luis took his first Mariachi vocal lesson at the age of 10 and continues performing Mariachi to this day. Occasionally accompanying himself with a guitar, he’s incorporated singing pop, R&B, and pop-ballads in both English and Spanish.
Things that has characterized Luis is his strong Long vocal range and ease with acting. In 2012, Luis performed for the first time in a play, “Lola in Lincolnlandia”, at Plaza De La Raza directed by the CalArts acting team?. ?The following year, Luis booked an important role in, “fuente Ovejuna” , which was performed at REDCAT and also directed by CalArts.
Luis’s first national TV appearance took place in 2013 when he was a contestant on the “El Factor X” (The X Factor) and was followed by an appearance on “La Voz Kids (The Voice) the following year in 2014. Since 2014, Luis has had multiple performances at Quinceanera Expos where he has performed for Moda 2000, Quinceanera Magazine, Senorita Jalisco expo, and Miss Latina Cosmopolitan. He’s also performed at prestigious Los Angeles venues such as the Los Angeles Theatre, the Alex Theater, the Whittier Theater, the Fox Theater, the Downey Theater, and the La Mirada Theatre center.
2015 brought Luis to a public high school for the first two years before being accepted and transferred to Orange County School Of The Arts for the remaining two years. It was a requirement at the conservatory to sing songs in Italian, German, and French, a skill that expanded his musical vocabulary. After school in OC, Luis studied classical music at The Colburn School in Los Angeles where he had the privilege of studying voice with Miss Kate Montgomery.
In February 2017, Luis was accepted at the Berklee College of Music but instead chose to stay on the west coast and enroll at the California College of Music (CCM), in Pasadena. He is on track to earn his Associates Degree in Vocal Performance and scheduled to graduate in the spring of 2019.
His formal education brought him into commercial music theory, rhythm training, ear training, music technology, and finding his voice in vocal performance. Still at a young age, Luis has a perfect blend of professional experience and formal music education. He just released his first single called, “Si tu fueras mi novia” on all digital platforms and the music video will be released shortly.
