About the trio
MARCELO MACCAGNAN
Born in Santos, Brazil, Marcelo started his music studies at the age of 15, playing the electric bass and the drums. With 16, he started performing in some local clubs with some of his rock bands. After finishing high school, 18 years old, Marcelo moved to Sao Paulo and enrolled in Souza Lima music conservatory and then transferred to Berklee College of Music to finish his Dual Degree in Performance and Contemporary Writing and Production with a Minor on Visual Arts.
At the age of 23, Marcelo now has earned his Dual Degree from Berklee College of Music and is living in New York where he works as a performer, teacher, composer and producer.
MAXIME CHOLLEY
A drummer with infinite inspiration, Maxime’s latest adventurous project revolves around dissecting the essentials of rhythm, exploiting concepts that allow music to flow between different levels of time. Using this singular approach, he adds elements from latin, African, Indian, middle eastern or asian music, completing this journey through the fundamental elements of time in music, unifying heritage with innovation.Maxime now lives in New York City working as an in demand drummer, percussion player and producer.
Maxime grew up in France and moved to Boston, MA in the Fall of 2014 to study at Berklee College of Music. While attending one of the best music schools in the world, his hard work and perseverance were recognized with the Berklee Achievement Scholarship and the Avedis Zildjian Endowed Scholarship.
ANDREW CHENG
Andrew Cheng was born in Malaysia and grew up on the island of Borneo. In 2014, he was accepted into the prestigious Berklee College of Music on scholarship. At Berklee, he studied with world-renowned professors such as Mick Goodrick and David Tronzo, as well as earning several awards including the Guitar Department Achievement Award.
After graduating from school, he moved to New York City and has played tours and concerts in the United States, Europe and Asia, playing different styles of music. He has shared the stage with artists such as Hong Kong pop artists William So, Fred Cheng and German pianist Julian Moreen.
