A Wisconsin native, Tuwanna is a profound singer/song writer who has collaborated with other local talent in the DFW metroplex. After relocating to Dallas at the tender age of 5 she quickly began to adopt a shy mysterious personality which only went away when she was asked to sing. Tuwanna learned to express her struggles of relocation and isolation from family in Wisconsin through adventure-filled tales of talk as well as stories she shared via songs she wrote. She began singing at the tender age of 4 in the church choir and later challenged herself with lessons in Opera at the tender age of 12. She took 2nd place in a statewide competition and later expanded her vocals and passion to the R&B genre. With a opera background and a love for a variety of genres her heart sings it’s own tune. However , some would say she fits the category of jazz/R&B. Life lessons about survival, love and heart break seem to be her inspiration for writing. When she performs you can see her connection to each song. A sight you rarely see anymore. A sight and sound that makes you want to experience again and again.
