Biography

Funk like Sly Stone & Parliament Funkadelic. Jazz like Thundercat, Robert Glasper & Kumasi Washington. This project is Ripe with melodic-rhythmic energy. This energy is produced by keyboardist Cori Jacobs.

 Cori has played and recorded with Lauryn Hill, Eric Benet, Sly Stone, George Clinton, Pussycat dolls, Beyonce’, Khelani, Kumasi Washington, Thundercat, Fantastic Negrito, and many, many more. He brings all of these experiences to the stage and to his recordings.

Experiencing life is what drives the music. In 2017 Cori was pulled over by LA County sheriff for what he thought was a illegal U-turn. It turned into him being assaulted, arrested, his car being towed, and him taken to jail, charged with reckless driving. Nine months later the charges were reduced to a U-turn and a small fine. “I went home from the police station bleeding from being assaulted by the police while I was handcuffed. I’ve never felt so helpless and hurt over something so small. I am grateful however, that I’m here to write about, in knowing that I could have been on a long list of black men transitioned for little or no reason by law enforcement.” The Cori Hypothesis message is subliminal but clear. Live life like you would if you were locked in a candy store full of candy. Be free, live in the moment, just live. Oh, and don’t forget to forgive yourself first, before you forgive someone else.
