Born in Illinois, Buddy's family moved to Texas when he was 9 years old. He grew up in Houston, Texas watching country legends perform at small honky-tonks and rodeo events like the Houston Livestock and Rodeo Show and Cheyenne Frontier Days. As a youth, Buddy competed in choral competitions in Brenham, Texas, and later learned to play guitar in Phoenix, Arizona.
Emerging as the ‘Gothic Cowboy’ in 2003, Buddy’s repertoire focused on performing acoustic alt-country covers of punk rock and new wave hits from the 1980s. Greenbloom has since performed across America at private parties and public venues.
In 2020 Greenbloom joined the Western Music Association and began working on his first album composed entirely of original songs. Currently, Buddy is in Hollywood, California recording his second studio album due out in late 2022. He performs with a backup band called the Gothic Cowboys.
