Tate Simms was born in NYC, NY and basically raised on the best music ever written.

Tate is an accomplished guitarist, bassist, vocalist, songwriter and producer.

Tate starting playing professionally in clubs at the tender age of 16.

After a brief stay in college which did not agree with him, Tate Started venturing out into the world of pop music.

Live music turned out to be his true passion.

He has played and traveled the world with Grammy Award winning artists like Christina Aguilera and Joe Cocker.

He was the bassist for Mary Wilson of The Supremes and Latoya Jackson as her musical director as well.

Tate has worked throughout the years with literally the who’s who of some of the greatest entertainers in the world. Here is the complete list that Tate has shared the stage with in his illustrious musical career.

Globus, The New Ray Charles Orchestra, The Harlem Gospel Choir, George Benson, Sheryl Crow, Curtis Blow, Orin “Juice” Jones, Spencer Davis, and appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show backing up Lisa Marie Presley.

He has also been the background singer for Paul Carrack, Sir Cliff Richards, Tony Christie and even the classical music of Andre Rieu.

He’s opened for the legendary soul band Tower Of Power twice in Germany.

He’s opened for Living Colour and was also the lead guitarist with Frankie “Kash” Waddy of James Brown, Bootsy Collins and Funkadelic.

Frankie also helped to introduce him to Bobby Brown where they played together in Los Angeles last year.
