Biography

From rocking stages across the southeast to singing praises from the choir loft, Trey Duncan has flirted with just about everything music has to offer. Trey is an independent Country Rock’n’Soul artist based out of Greenville, SC and has been performing professionally since 2019. He marries his Chris Stapleton-esque vocals with a light-hearted smile and versatile guitar chops. Trey comes from a musical family and has always known music would play an important role in his life. His father taught him how to play guitar and ignited a love for rock and roll, while his mother (the singer in the family) fostered an appreciation for country music and honest and transparent songwriting. He also owes a debt of gratitude to growing up singing and playing in church, which is where he attributes the “soul” with which he sings.

After winning open mic competitions at Smiley’s Acoustic Cafe and Eddie’s Attic in Greenville, SC and Atlanta, GA, respectively, Trey continued to cut his teeth with upstate hard rockers, Kings Ransome. He is humbled to have shared the stage with musicians such as American Idol winner Taylor Hicks, 90’s country greats Doug Stone and T Graham Brown, chart-topping rockers Hinder, and virtuoso guitarists, Michael Angelo Batio, Tony McAlpine, and Neil Zaza. His music with Kings Ransome was nominated for several Upstate Music Awards, and his song “Running on Empty” was the regional representative for the fall 2020 anthem chapter challenge at NSAI. Trey is a child at heart, but his craft is no laughing matter. He’s always happy to share a song and a smile to anyone in need of either.
